Yes, it's broken. I have the same experience with the hamm version and oddly
enough
also with the FreeBSD port of Scilab. This indicates a big screw up from the
upstream
authors. I feel sorry for the Debian package maintainer who must be pretty
frustrated
trying to fix the problem.
