I just know about two pop-3 packages in debian: qpopper and cucipop. I
believe qmail has a pop-3 daemon on it's own as well.

I heared some time ago that 24 bpp makes trouble with some apps. Maybe you
could try 16 or 32 bpp as a test.

If the above tip doesn't help, this could be an option (although I don't
think this is the reason for your problems). But I'd give debian's
installer a second chance. Post to the list, if you get into trouble.

Hmm, some original american brownies would be fine :-) Unfortunately they
wouldn't arrive in germany fast enough to be eatable.
