scanpackages - what's the problem?

Running scanpackages on non-free gives me output such as

 !! Package libgd1g has `Section: non-free/libs', but file is in `libs'
 !! Package archie has `Section: non-free/net', but file is in `net' !!
 !! Package cucipop has `Section: non-free/net', but file is in `net' !!

My script, which I got from the list not long ago, is:-

cd /debian && dpkg-scanpackages dists/frozen/non-free/binary-i386 \
        /tmp/override.hamm.non-free > \
        dists/frozen/non-free/binary-i386/Packages
rm -f /debian/dists/frozen/non-free/binary-i386/Packages.gz
gzip -v9 /debian/dists/frozen/non-free/binary-i386/Packages

It all seems to work just fine. So why is it complaining?
