ppp, PII/P90, ioctl(SIOCADDRT) device route: Network is down(100)

Hi,

I've got two computers here, both with an (about) 3 weeks old debian-hamm
distribution, one P90, and one PII-233. On the P90 I can setup a ppp
connection to cistron.nl (posing as provider), but my PII-233 refuses to
do the same.

The thing is when running "dip -v dip-script", the output on both computers
is identical. The only difference seems to be that on the P90, a couple of
seconds after dip shows the protocol number (5) and exits, I have a ppp
connection. On the PII-233, all that happens a couple of seconds
after "dip" exits is that the phone line disconnects.

I've just copied all config files from ppp and dip from the P90 to the
PII-233, but it still doesn't work (see logfiles below).

Has anyone any idea how I could solve this?

Thanks!
