If you are sure it is a serial mouse (i.e. a serial connector) and not a
PS/2 mouse then you should be using gpm for the console and and /dev/ttyS0
for the device name in xf86config.  If it happens to be a PS/2 mouse the
in xf86config the device would be /dev/psaux.
