Yes, this is the right forum to ask.

This message indicates that the kernel you are booting with and the
device driver modules do not fit together. They should if they both
come from the same kernel-image package.

Could you try the latest bootdisks for hamm and tell us if the problem
is still there? In this case it's a problem of the cdrom driver
and needs to be looked at further.
