Not really if qmail works for you. It does have limitations such as users
must have a home directory on the system. It does some silly things in how
it delivers mail that burns resources (delivers a copy of each email for
each envelope recipient rather than using multiple RCPT TO: and a single
copy of the email) but these are "religious" issues that are more a matter
of personal preference.

I use exim because it was easy to configure my relatively complex mail
setup, because it has its own internal filtering both system-wide and user
specific so you do not need any external programs such as procmail. It
also has internal support for mailing lists and auto-responders.

My main mail server handles email for 18 different domains by uucp, one by
etrn, and three virtual domains where some on the users are local and some
of the users are at other ISP's. It takes me minutes to make changes or
add domains. There is also one site that uses me to rewrite its broken
mail headers so that other sites will accept their mail.

Preventing or allowing relay on a sender, recipient, sending site,
receiving site and despamming are extremely simple. That most of its
configuration options can be stored in external files makes adding things
a matter of editing a list in most cases. THis also makes the
configuration file itself portable to other systems that would have their
own set of external site lists.

I use it because it works (very well) for me.
