Installing Debian on system with AIC7770

Hi All,

I'm trying to install Debian on a system which has a AIC7770. However, while
booting the first disk (either from disk or with loadlin) I get a kernel
panic:

aic7xxx: (aic7xxx_isr) Encountered spurious interrupt.
scsi0: BRKADRINT (error(0x1):
  Illegal Host Access
Kernel panic: scsi0: BRKADRINT, error 0x1, seqaddr 0x0.

Removing one or more (or all) SCSI devices has no effect. Turning off the
scsi reset has no effect either.

Anyone have any suggestions on what to do?

Thanks,
NiElS

(btw, is there a debian install kernel without scsi? in case I had to resort
to installing on a IDE disk..)
