configuring return address on outgoing mail

Hi,

I'm using smail with a dynamic dial-up IP number. It works fine (I
can send mail), but it thinks I can receive mail, so the return
address is garbage. This means that if mail bounces I never know the
difference, which is bad.
How can I configure smail to put in a valid return address, i.e., my
real email address rather than the local machine address?

Thanks,
 Havoc Pennington
