Yes, I find that Netscape 4 loves to change all-but-one of the dots
into underscores, despite the fact that the VFAT file system is
happy enough with multiple dots. It's rather annoying.

The (1) would occur if you already had a file of that name;
(1) is the second. A Netscapism again perhaps.
