I think that there is room for both type of documents. The text from
Oliver is really short. That's good for some people. If it's too short
for you and you don't understand what's going on there, you will take
a look to the user's guide. Both documents should reference each other
in the preface.

Please integrate this document into the Debian Documentation Project.

Perhaps you can rename it into something like "Quickstart from DOS to
GNU/Linux". 

Perhaps 2nd there's room for this document on the boot floppy or the
boot CD.
