For others reading this, I've already done:

uuencode sed sed|mail -s sed mlawson@drfmc.ceng.cea.fr

so I hope that helps him.

My spamfilter is so good, it correctly catches 90% of incoming spam,
*including* all email from my PhD supervisor.
