I helped a friend install Debian. He has an internal modem. It wouldn't
work until we uncommented this line in /etc/rc/boot/0setserial:

${SETSERIAL} -b /dev/ttyS2 ${AUTO_IRQ} skip_test autoconfig ${STD_FLAGS}
