Contents files are your friends.  For hamm:

ftp.mcc.ac.uk/pub/linux/distributions/Debian/hamm> zcat Contents-i386.gz | grep libX11.a
usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.a                                       x11/xslibg
usr/i486-linuxlibc1/lib/libX11.a                             x11/xslib

For bo:

ftp.mcc.ac.uk/pub/linux/distributions/Debian/bo> zcat Contents-i386.gz | grep libX11.a
usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.a                                       x11/xslib
