Yes. You must.

You are right in disabling DNS. It will be reenabled by the
domain-name-server option of the DHCP protocol. Don't ask, this is
Micro$oft logic :-)
In other words: just select TCP/IP on your PC's with all default options
and make the rest with DHCP.
