[Q] How to Print in DEBIAN
Hi ,
I just bought Lexmark 7000 (1200x1200 dpi) -- I have
StarOffice installed -- how do I print?
I read print howtos -- but I still do not understand what
I have to do to get it work.
I installed gs-alladin.deb packages -- I also installed
magicfilters. But I have no clue were to specify what printer
I use and what port it is on. I looked at /etc/printcap -- but
there is no line to uncomment or add to say the printer name.
I was also discouraged by the fact that Lexmark made their printer
only compatible with windows. However, I found that the printer
emulates hp 500C commands -- so I would like to get it work at least
with that. If it does not work I will return it and by Epson 800 Stylus
-- I hope that one will work.
If you have any suggestions, please respond as soon as you can
because I have to return the printer within 7 days -- if I do not
like it.
