You probably mean:

 append="mcdx=0x320, 11"
             ^

I have a Mitsumi 2X CD-ROM purchased in 1994 on another PC.
I recognised it like so:

 mcd=0x300,10

It is seen as /dev/mcd
You might alos try /dev/mcdx0, /mcdx1, ...
