postgres uid/gid

I am running Debian 1.3.1.  The following lines from /etc/passwd
seem strange:

majordom:x:30:31:majordom:/usr/lib/majordomo:/bin/sh
postgres:x:31:32:postgres:/var/postgres:/bin/sh

Is there a canonical list of what the preinstalled users should be?
