I had to admit I can't really believe you... Sorry.
Besides, localsites only affects "set localsignature=<file>". Only.
What're you doing there, it works like a charm here? Did you quit Mutt
to reload the changes? :->

Maybe you want to do a "set edit_hdrs" and edit the From: manually, see if
it goes through you mta unchanged.
