sane

hi,

i'm trying to get my umax s6e scanner to work using davidm's sane. i have
a adaptec ava-1505 card working well with my scsi zip drive.

during boot-up, the kernel recognizes my scanner correctly, right down to
the model name ( :)! ). it lists it as "generic device sga" or some such
(i know it definitely says 'sga' anyway), and yet, there is no device
'sga' in /dev.

should i create a device sga? i know it's not a block device, so what kind
would it be?

any help would be vastly appreciated :) .

matty
