syslogd / hostname -> mismatch?
Hey
When syslogd starts up (/etc/init.d/sysklogd), it uses in de logfiles
'cal052204'. But I want it to use 'oloon'.
[remco@oloon:~]$ hostname
oloon
[remco@oloon:~]$ hostname --fqdn
cal052204.student.utwente.nl
[remco@oloon:~]$ cat /etc/hosts
127.0.0.1 localhost
130.89.230.134 cal052204.student.utwente.nl oloon
[remco@oloon:~]$ cat /etc/hostname
oloon
I think everything should be all right in this case, looking at this output.
What makes it even stranger: when I stop,start syslogd (using the sysklogd
file), it uses 'oloon'..
Any idea how I should fix this? I'm using Debian 1.3.
Thanks,
Remco.
