It's still 0, isn't it? Copy base1_3.tgz & drv1440.bin to C:\ on the
dos partition, and use loadlin & rsc1440.bin off the cd.

He's got a point, though, when it comes to time. On a 486/33, it
advances about 1 unselected package per second, feeling duty-bount to
check every one. That's about 20 minutes of pure wasted time. It
occurred to me after the fact that ftping to my own machine so that only
the needed files would be copied would have been much faster.

Also, it notes that the cd is mounted in "select installation method,
but required that the cd not be mounted when time to "update packages."
The error caused by having the cd mounted was enough to abort the
script.

I had assumed he was complaining about modconf, which is also
unreasonably slow, and has a generally awkward interface.

he also noted that he almost expected rechat to upgrade itself by ftp,
but such a feature wasn't supported yet. Hmm, did he think to see if
debian would?

In one of the crocodile dundee movies, when he's in new york, he notices
a television. H commented that he'd seen one 30 years before. He
turned it on, "I Love Lucy" appeared, and he comments "Yep, still the
same" or some such.
