Help with xrdb
Hello all,
I am having a problem with getting xrdb to work. Since xrdb is broken, several other programs
don't get their preferences correctly (i.e. xdm, etc). On starting xrdb (or any other program
which uses it ) I get the following message:
xrdb: can't run '/lib/cpp -traditional -Dlinux -D__i386__ -DPOSIX-SOURCE
...extensive option list generated by xrdb...
/lib/cpp is a soft link to /usr/bin/cpp. I can run /lib/cpp -traditional etc... from the command
line without difficulty. I have replace the soft link, have even tried moving a copy of cpp
to /lib/ without avail. Why can xrdb not seem to start /lib/cpp. This is a problem I did
not have on my old Slackware installation, and is quite frustrating. Any help or pointers
would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks in advance.
