problems with update announcements

Hi

I was wondering if there was anyway to ensure that update announcements
for changes on the debian ftp site match the reality of what is there.

For instance I just read that e2fsprogs has been updated to version 1.09
with a medium update level.

When I checked out ftp.debian.org I found that not only was that version
not there but that the only version on the site seemed to be in
experimental.

This seems to indicate that there is something wrong with the announce
list as it is in a lot of cases not worth reading.

Comments please.

Joe.
