Thanks for the info.  I was wondering what the hell matt was for.  It
didn't seem to do anything and whenever I tried it, to see if it did the
job, the window manager wouldn't open the xpm.  Sometimes the xpm wouldn't
save to disk either.  Actually that may have been gimp I don't remember.  

Again thanks.  I really appreciate your reply along with all the rest.
