Installing contrib and non-free packages
Hello, thanks for reading.
After installing Debian I tried to install some non-free and contrib
packages with no success. The packages show up in the dselect program,
I select them for installation and press ENTER to install. No errors, no
warnings, it seems everything went fine but the package is not installed.
I am installing from a harddisk that contains a copy of a local Debian ftp
archive. The hardisk copy was made using the package 'mirror'. It has all
the distribution except the 'source' directories ( the disk is only 420Mb ).
If I install directly from the archive with ftp, everything works fine.
Any suggestions ?
Thanks in advance.
