I'm not sure that those were the errors I was getting; however, I tried to
eliminate the possibility of bad disks by using many different fresh
diskette sets.  I reformatted them before writing the image to them - no
bad sectors reported.  Each time I ran into the problem, I used a
completely new set of diskettes - i.e. I've got about 5 stacks of 6 disks
around....  I'm pretty persistent.... <grin>

However, I ran into the same problem with each set of diskettes....  (as
described above).
