I assume by "dselect will not work any more" you mean you can't use the
ftp method. You will need to use ftp to fetch dpkg-ftp from stable/net and
install it by hand (dpkg -i).
Mc depends upon libgdb1, but fails to declare the dependence. You will
find the package in stable/misc.
