dlltools-2.17, linux-a.out long-term
Hello.
I am trying to install the latest Gardens Point modula2 package but
it appears to me to expect a version of dlltools later than
`dlltools-2.17-3.deb'.
By this I mean that running `ldd' on my Debian-0.93 executables
gives me
libc.so.4 (DLL Jump 4.6pl27) => /lib/libc.so.4.6.27
but running `ldd' on the executables that came with Gardens Point
modula-frb96.tar.gz gives me
libc.so.4 (DLL Jump 4.7pl2) => /lib/libc.so.4.6.27
and I get messages like
----------------------- quote -------------------------------
build: using incompatible library '/lib/libc.so.4.6.27'
Desire minor version >= 7 and found 6
build: using incompatible library '/lib/libc.so.4.6.27'
Desire minor version >= 7 and found 6
dgen: using incompatible library '/lib/libc.so.4.6.27'
Desire minor version >= 7 and found 6
--------------------- unquote -------------------------------
when I try to use the modula2 package.
Is DLL Jump 4.7 at all likely find its way into Debian-0.93 any
time soon?
(If I sound tentative it is because I am unnclear about the policy
Debian GNU/Linux has taken w/r its linux-a.out support long-term.)
