Yes, there is, in the XF86_MONO server. Unfortunately, creating
/etc/xf86config could be quite tricky; XFree86 3.2's new XF86Setup
program uses the vga16 server, so you can't use that.
You really need to find somebody else's settings and steal
and adjust them.

I'm in the same boat. I have a 486/33/12 which I would like
to run X on for a joke :-) but it has mono, and I don't
have any figures for the config file.
