I agree. I've found (by experience) that it's best to keep electronic
correspondence very mild. It's very difficult to control the impression
you make over such a narrowband medium. People tend to categorize you
very quickly when you use strong language online. It's much better to
tone everything down a notch or two. Let people develop their
generalizations about you after they've had a bit more exposure to
you. I don't advocate soft opinions and ideas, just softer language.
