These are all kernel issues. Bsd_comp.c is only allowed to be built as a
modules (this is done automatically. you are not given the option of
leaving bsd_comp out). As ppp has a dependancy connection with bsd_comp,
ppp must be built as a module also.
Ppp is, to my knowlege, the only module that must be built as a module.
And this has only been since the introduction of bsd_comp.
