aaaaaaargh

In the process of moving my /var subdir over to a new drive (using my
second drive for good and not evil, I erased WinNT that I never boot to
anyhow 'cuz my machine's the hub) I managed to totally munge the modes on
all the directories and files. Stupid tar. Bleah.

So, if someone could kindly send me a dump of the modes on all their
spool dirs, maybe the files, etc. that'd be just the coolest thing. I've
got mostly debian 1.1, with some of the major packages I can detect
living in /var being

smail
majordomo
news
emacs
games stuff
xdm
ntp
pop
lpd
fax
voice
texmf
uumaps
cron
locate
xfs
minicom

Perhaps someone with a tendency to install just about everything could do
me this grand favor. I would prefer not to reinstall.
