svgalib install

There has been discussion regarding installation of debian from X
windows - and hence the need for the inclusion of X on the base
installation disks (messages with subject "Floppy X"?)

Many replies have been against the idea - mostly because the sheer
size of X is prohibitive.

But what about using svgalib? I _imagine_ it wouldn't use up much in
the way of disks, and a simple GUI version of dselect ought not be too
difficult. Has anyone thought of this idea? Are there any hidden
traps that would make this too difficult?
