Where is `as86'? (needed by source-1.2.13-7.deb)
Some people on this very list convinced me that recompiling the kernel was not
such a dreadful operation, and that I could even attempt it (no names ;-)
So I went through it and am now blocked at the following point:
(from the `make zImage' log)
nm vmlinux | grep -v '\(compiled\)\|\(\.o$\)\|\( a \)' | sort > System.map
make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/linux-1.2.13/arch/i386/boot'
as86 -0 -a -o bootsect.o bootsect.s
make[1]: as86: Command not found
make[1]: *** [bootsect.o] Error 127
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-1.2.13/arch/i386/boot'
make: *** [zImage] Error 2
/usr/src/linux-1.2.13#
Where can find as86? Can I use gnu as instead? For info, here are the devel
packages I have installed:
autoconf-2.4-1.deb
