'type' is a bash and pdksh builtin
'which' is a tcsh builtin
probably there's a zsh builtin also.

you can also write a simple alias/function/script that uses 'find'.

There's no Debian olwm package, so you have to install it yourself.
If it compiles/runs on Slackware, most likely it will do the same on
Debian with only trivial adjustments.  Your Slackware olwm binary (and
libraries?) will probably work fine, you may need to change some
paths or something.
