A deliberate hack in /usr/src/linux/drivers/net/slip.c causes compressed slip packets to be reported as overruns. If you see lots of overruns but don't get any kernel messages and don't see network delays due to dropped packets, this is why. I'll post a note to the NET channel. Bruce
