tienes adept-notifier (este agrega un icono a la barra de tareas indicando si existen nuevos paquetes disponibles)
y adept-updater tanto en testing como
unstable.
para ver la descripcion del programa en un terminal tipeas:
apt-cache show nombre o bien ingresas a http://packages.debian.org
