Pues vaya, qué raro. Lo único que se me ocurre es que loguees el arranque del 
sistema con bootlogs:

# dpkg -S bootlogd
sysvinit: /sbin/bootlogd
initscripts: /etc/init.d/bootlogd
initscripts: /etc/init.d/stop-bootlogd
initscripts: /etc/default/bootlogd
sysvinit: /usr/share/man/man8/bootlogd.8.gz


A ver si sale algo raro.
Aunque claro, igual ese script tampoco arranca... :(
