interfaz ppp0 o nas0 no se crea usando speedtouch 330 y speedtouchconf
yo tenia un fedora core 3, a este lo pude hacer andar perfecto con el
módem usb speedtouch 330.
ahora me pase de debian sarge, pero no puedo conectarme a Internet.
después de googlear bastante, y de preguntar por aca, termine usando
varias opciones. la ultima (y creo que la que va a terminar
funcionando) es usando el script speedtouchconf [1].
cunado lo ejecuto anda todo bien, menos la ultima parte

el usuario y la contraseña estan bien, porque los estoy usando ahora
en win, el cual tuve que instalar para conseguir ayuda.
este script genera otro, que se instala en /etc/init.d/ llamado
speedtch, que se usa para levantar como si fuera nfs, o apache
por la salida del primero, todo esta bien, pero no se conecto.
entonces ejecute el segundo a mano, pasándole el parametro start.
como no decía nada, y luego de un rato largo solo decia "failed", lo
edite con el vi y le meti un echo por cada linea que hace algo, para
ver donde es que falla.
este script llama el demonio de PPP con el parametro call y el archivo
/etc/ppp/peers/speedtch tambien generado por el script inicial.
luego de lanzar el demonio para que se conecte, entra en un loop donde
cicla hasta un máximo de 60 veces, o hasta que la linea "ifconfig |
grep ppp" le señale que se conecto. esto nunca pasa. el dispositivo
nunca existe, y tampoco aparece la interfaz nas0 , que solía estar en
mi antiguo fedora.
revisando los /var/log/* encontre un par de cosas interesantes.
"modem_run[7394]: ADSL line is up (320 kbit/s down | 128 kbit/s up)"
esta linea que quiere decir ? esta sacada del archivo mesages. quiere
decir que logro conectarse un poco ?
y el archivo "ppp-connect-errors" esta vacío...
también les mando un estracto de los archivos de log, quizás alguno
logra ver algo
PD: perdon por seguir molestando con este tema pero ya me lei muchas
cosas de google y no logro hacer andar el modem. como podran ver
también le dedique tiempo al problema probando
