3ddesk: glXIsDirect failed, no Direct Rendering possible!

Buenos días a todos los _usuarios_.

Hace tiempo que me instalé 3ddesk, pero el caso es que no me había 
parado lo suficiente a configurarlo.

Tango cargado de las ATI Radeon (la mía es mobility radeon 9200) y tengo 
configurado (o lo parece el servidor X) adecuadamente:

De acuerdo con mi experiencia en Debian, si tenemos los drivers y 
tenemos la configuración, el programa no debería dar problemas como en:

$ 3ddesk
Attempting to start 3ddesktop server.
Daemon started.  Run 3ddesk to activate.
3ddeskd: glXIsDirect failed, no Direct Rendering possible!
3ddeskd: Please configure hardware acceleration.  Exiting.
Server not found after waiting 5 seconds.

¿qué estoy haciendo mal?

He buscado en google y parece que no se ha tratado este tema en la lista 
y otros que tuvieron el mismo problema no fueron repondidos en diversos 
foros.
