Buenas:

He estado  fuera el fin de semana.

Lo primero sería ver si tu kernel detecta el modem correctamente y, si no,
es posible que tengas que compilar un kernel tal y como se explica en los
tutoriales que puedes encontrar haciendo la búsqueda adecuada con el google
(por ejemplo).

Para que te podamos ayudar nos debes dar más informacion. Dinos lo
siguiente:
-Lo que aparece despues de ejecutar el comando "dmesg" inmediatamente
despues de enchufar el modem. (arranca tu maquina sin enchufarlo y después
le enchufas el cable usb).
-Dinos cual es el archivo que le falta al script cxstart.sh. o mejor
mandanos lo que imprime en pantalla este script.
-Dinos cual es tu archivo /etc/resolv.conf y cual es tu proveedor de
internet. Es posible que lo que te fallen sean los servidores DNS porque no
los has puesto o porque son incorrectos.
-Oculta tu IP estática y otros datos personales en cualquier mensaje que
mandes, por razones de seguridad.

A ver si lo conseguimos!!!

<Tras varios intento fallidos al instalar mi MODEM Vitelcom de telefónica en
debian, decidí instalar LINEX (que por cierto <es la leche). Linex ya lleva
el driver de este MODEM, pero no consigo hacerlo funcionar. Se encienden las
luces y demás <cosas, pero no puedo navegar. Cuando escribo cxstart.sh me
dice un  archivo no se encuentra. Tengo una conexión con IP <estática.

Yo tuve hace tiempo este módem, prueba esto a ver si te sirve:

Primero instala el paquete atm-tools: apt-get install atm-tools

En el archivo /etc/cxacru pones lo siguiente:

# Paths
BINARY_PATH="/usr/sbin"
ATM_PATH="/sbin/atmarpd"



Luego tu ip y todo eso!!!

Bueno, lo del apt-get hay que aclararlo:
Desconozco como va linex, pero si funciona de forma analoga a Debian
y no tienes conexion a internet, lo normal es que el paquete atm-tools
esté en el cd de la distribución, entonces habría que hacer:

1) Introducir el cdrom de la distribución.
2) apt-get cdrom add
3) apt-get update
4) Para comprobar si el paquete esta en el cd: apt-cache search atm-tools
5) Para instalarlo: apt-get install atm-tools
6) Finalmente, modificar /etc/cxacru:
           # Paths
           BINARY_PATH="/usr/sbin"
          ATM_PATH="/sbin/atmarpd"

y completar los datos de tu conexión en el mismo fichero.

A mi así siempre me funcionó, aunque he de reconocer que el susodicho
módem acabó con mi paciencia pronto, después de muchos rompecabezas
me pasé al router, que no tardas 2 minutos en configurarlo.
