Hola, un poco tarde (estuve con mis exámenes). Yo tengo una placa
similar que usa el módulo CS4232, tuve que poner varios módulos:
de mi /etc/modules
sound
soundcore
opl3
uart401
adl 1848
cs4232
si hago un lsmod se ve algo asi cómo:
Size Used by Not tainted
cs4232 xxxx (unused)
adl1848 xxxx [cs4232]
uart401 xxxx [cs4232]
opl3 xxxx (unused)
sound xxxx [cs4232 adl1848 uart401 opl3]
soundcore xxxx sound
luego cuando cargó todo, hacer
# rmmod cs4232
# modprobe sound
porque sino larga un conlficto de irqs (se hace cada vez que inicia la
machine o podés crear un script para que se haga al inicio, si querés te
lo paso).
Notar que en modules.conf debe haber algo asi como:

Generalmente estas placas vienen en notebooks IBM, cualquier cosa buscá
en la www sobre instalar Linux en Thinkpads.
PD: Mi distro es Debian Woody y el kernel es el 2.4.20pre:-)
