Abra qualquer um dos navegadores de arquivos e procure o menu (VER) dentro dele tem alguma coisa mais ou menos assim, VER ARQUIVOS OCULTOS, OU EXIBIR ARQUIVOS OCULTOS!
Tenta ai e diz se achou, vc ta usando o que? KDE? ou Gnome?

Olá. Um arquivo oculto é um arquivo que começa com ".".
Um find deve resolver seu caso:
find /diretorio -name \.\* -type f
[]s
