após apagar os arquivos inclusive o /tmp/*
o gnome deu sinal de vida .. apenas sinal .. agora os erros são:

startkde: starting u.p...
QPixmap: cannot create a QPixmap when no GUI is being used error handler
doing an exit (), pid=19375 erro=0
e o gnome .. _Icetransmkdir: Owner of /tmp/.ICE-unix should be set to root
SESSION_MANAGER:=local/localhost:/tmp/.ICE-unix/6802
