compilar programa

Amigos,

Estou tentando compilar o glabels, um gerador de etiquetas postais, mas
nao estou conseguindo. Vejam onde agarra:

checking for gnomeConf.sh file in /usr/local/lib... not found
configure: error: Could not find the gnomeConf.sh file that is generated
by gnome-libs install

Fiz os comandos do apt para localizar este tal gnome-config, ou este
gnomeConf.sh, mas nao encontrei nada.

Alguem me da uma ajuda???
