Teve discursão recente a respeito disso na -devel e na -users, eu acho...
não cheguei a ler toda, mas lembro que tinham solucionado o problema.
Eu estou com uma Sparc aqui na IMA rodando unstable com o xserver-svga
velho, e ela não teve nenhum problema com as fontes.
