Baru kali ini ada orang yang mau 'downgrade' kernel, tapi ini emang rada
membingungkan. Dari ver 2.4 mau di upgrade ke 2.6 atau downgrade ke 2.2?
Anyway, kalo ubah kernel, paling save recompile kernel lagi. Debian
(linux) hanya ambil hasil compiled kernel (vmlinuz or something) di
'boot' folder. Jadi kamu bisa recomplie kernel version breapa aja.
Yang perlu diperhatikan, pastikan semua software (should I say packages)
memang compatible untuk kernel itu. Contoh kernel 2.2 belum ada
iptables, kalo anda pakai package yang butuh iptable, pasti crash.

After you recomplied the kernel, you have to put the output into 'boot'
folder. After that, edit file 'lilo.conf' put additional lines which
telling the lilo that you had a new kernel instaled. If you want, this
is your change to set the default lilo, which kernel should lilo use for
booting. If you not deleting the other lines of lilo (just adding new
lines) then when your start up your computer, lilo will allow you to
select which kernel you want to use.
Is is possible to have a few kernels in 1 linux? YES. but please be sure
taht you know EXACTLY how recompile kernel. I didn't tell you how to
recompile the kernel because that is not what are you asking for.
