Was sagt den file -s /dev/sdc? "Boot Sector" oder "File System"?
Wenn "File System", dann hat Windows die Platte nicht partitioniert,
und Du musstest /dev/sdc direkt einhängen können.
Eventuell ist auch find /dev/disk -ls aufschlußreich.
