Debian Etch 4.0R05 Netinst Package fails after installation

Hi,

after trying to install debian several times on my Dell Precision 650
Workstation
2G RAM, Dual Xeon 3.xx Ghz, SCSI Drive installation with additional IDE
drive for data
I always got cought when after installation the system is restarted.

Kernel stated something like: Switching to SMP ... Processor 1/7 ... not
found ...
and then rebooted.

Ok, because of the system configuration I was prepared for trouble :-)
It wasn't easy to install Debian 3 either, but after all I succeeded.

Now finally I found the problem for the current release on my system,
- you may not believe this but it's reproducable:

I have connected a Plantronics Bluetooth adapter to the USB for a BT
Headset.
If, during boot, this is disconnected the system will start up without a
Problem.

thanks for reading...

I'll do my best, but be prepared - I'm a windoze dummy...
